Long-Tailed Tit Embroidery with Silk Thread and Freshwater Pearls

Design details

This long-tailed tit embroidery was created around 2019.

Fine silk sewing thread gives the bird a soft, delicate sheen, while genuine freshwater pearls add a quiet sense of depth and elegance to the composition.

Once the embroidery was complete, it was mounted onto the lid of a handmade box. The finished piece brings together the gentle texture of the bird, the glow of the silk thread, and the rounded luster of the pearls.

Embroidery process

Long-tailed tit embroidery developing with Outline Stitch and Alternating Stem Stitch

① At this early stage, the body is gradually filled with Outline Stitch and Alternating Stem Stitch.

These stitches allow the direction of the feathers to develop little by little. Rather than fixing every line in advance, the flow of the bird begins to emerge through the movement of the thread.

② The long-tailed tit has now taken on a clear form.

With the main shape in place, the surrounding flowers and smaller details begin to appear. Their placement gently expands the scene around the bird and gives the composition its rhythm.

Beads are considered alongside the embroidery so that their shine supports the softness of the silk thread without overwhelming it.
