A Rabbit in Bubble Light

This rabbit embroidery began with a small intention:
to create a slightly more realistic finish using silk thread.

Here, I have gathered a few quiet moments from the making process.
Another idea behind the piece was to express bubble-like spheres with sequins—
a detail that became one of the most enjoyable parts to watch take shape. In the end, it came together safely, just as hoped. 🫧🫧✨✨

This is where the embroidery quietly begins.

To bring out a more realistic impression, the pattern was drawn a little larger than usual.

There is also another part to look forward to: the round forms surrounding the rabbit, like small drifting soap bubbles.

In just one day, the piece moved forward quite a lot.
Lately, things I feel drawn to make have been coming together more smoothly than before. ✌︎ ˘ᵕ˘ ✌︎

There was a time when nothing came easily,
and every step required trial and error. Remembering that now, the difference feels quietly striking. ˙ᵕ˙💥

For the eye, zirconia was chosen.
It catches the light with a bright, jewel-like sparkle.

After some time away, the work quietly resumed. દᵕ̈૩!!

The body was nearly complete.
At last, the sequins arrived, and the bubble-like spheres could finally be stitched.

This was a new style of expression for the piece,
and the part I had been looking forward to the most.

The final leg was being stitched here.
Just a little more to go...!

As shown in the lessons and books, each strand of fur was placed by drawing lines with Outline Stitch.

Using sequins alone made the spheres feel a little too soft and blurred,
so they were outlined with gold and silver thread instead.

That small addition brought the finish much closer to the original image in mind,
which came as a quiet relief.

Work on the piece began in November, and there was even a pause along the way while searching for the right sequins—but in the end, it was completed safely. 🙌

What remains here is not only a finished rabbit.

Also stitched into the cloth are the hours of trial, and the quiet search for where the light should rest.

And what appeared in the end was a small scene—

holding both a gentle sense of life and light that drifts like bubbles.
